ALERT – Status of Arbour Farms Gravel Pit Application

As spring is in full bloom in Mulmur Township it’s time to update you on CORE’s recent activities related to the Arbour Farms application for a gravel pit license.

Status of Arbour Farms Gravel Pit Application
As many of you know, Arbour Farms has been aggressively pursuing a rezoning of its site and concurrently pushing its application to obtain a license to extract aggregate from its property located on east side of Airport Road just south of County Road 21.

Despite grave concerns expressed by Dufferin County residents related to traffic safety issues (and other aspects of the application, including extraction below the water table and proximity to Lisle Creek) the application has received sign off from most governmental agencies, including the NVCA and the County Roads Department. Mulmur Township has not issued rezoning approval and as a result Arbour Farms has referred these applications to the Ontario Municipal Board.

Although the actual OMB hearing is many months off, there was an OMB Pre-Hearing scheduled for July 8th at 10:30 a.m. When the decision and procedural order from the preheating is issued OMB we will post it for your information.
